Matt Johnson
CEO
Mr. Johnson brings with him over 15 years of experience as a healthcare and healthtech executive and investor. Throughout his career, he has served in multiple senior management positions, including managing director of healthcare private equity investments at Sowell & Co., CEO of CareCycle Solutions and CEO of HealthBridge In-Home Care.
Mr. Johnson joined EarlySense in 2019 to advance the company’s goal to become the standard of care for contact-free, continuous monitoring solutions for the
healthcare continuum.
Mr. Johnson holds a BA in Economics from Southern Methodist University.
Michael Tiffany
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Tiffany brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare as a clinician and healthcare IT leader. Throughout his career, he has led rapidly growing, high performing teams focused on developing and implementing new services and driving customer success.
Prior to joining EarlySense, he spent 15 years at athenahealth, most recently serving as the Vice President of Professional Services, leading the customer onboarding and consulting organizations and building a proactive customer performance insight program for new customers. Prior to athenahealth, he spent 8 years as a practicing physical therapist, leading ICU rehabilitation programs at Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Mr. Tiffany holds an MBA degree from Boston University and a MS in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College.
Terry Duesterhoeft
Chief Product Officer
Mr. Duesterhoeft joins EarlySense bringing more than 20 years of experience as a thought leader, executive, and strategic marketing leader in MedTech and digital health. He has consistently focused on developing new product strategies and execution, and on growing innovative new businesses; scaling up or pivoting existing ones; and building and mentoring global teams to accomplish it.
Prior to joining EarlySense, he spent 6 years at A&D Medical as the President and CEO of their Americas subsidiary where he also led Strategic Marketing and Planning. Prior to A&D, he spent 6 years at Honeywell HomMed as President and VP of Strategic Marketing; and 12 years at GE Healthcare where he led the strategy and growth enablement of the ultrasound general imaging segment.
Mr. Duesterhoeft holds an MBA from St Thomas University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Guy Meger
GM EarlySense LTD & CTO
Guy has more than 15 years of experience in several positions in the medical industry as well as in the Defense Industry. He has a B.SC degree in Computers engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology and holds an MBA from the Tel Aviv University. Guy led multidisciplinary R&D teams focused on signal processing solutions and sensors on a variety of platforms. Among other positions he served as the leader of large scale integration projects in Rafael, Director of Development in Nexense, and Head of Logic Design Team in Paratec.
Guy is the author of several issued and pending patents.
John Dragovits
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Dragovits has more than 30 years of experience as a healthcare and healthcare IT executive leader. He previously served in VP roles with electronic health records companies Cerner Corporation as well as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Revenue Cycle at Allscripts. He was also held health system senior executive roles, having served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Dallas’ Children’s Health and Executive VP and CFO of Parkland Health & Hospital System.
Throughout his career, Mr. Dragovits has led novel and creative strategies, in very complicated market environments, that helped reshaped healthcare delivery. Since the beginning of his healthcare career, he has championed efforts to quickly adopt change, especially in information and medical technologies, to provide faster, higher quality and lower cost services.
He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Rice University.

Ittai Harel
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Harel, General Partner at Pitango Venture Capital is a veteran of the life sciences industry. He has fifteen years of experience, covering a wide range of activities, from basic business and technology development to corporate executive management, in areas such as pharmaceutical development, drug delivery, medical devices and diagnostics.
Before joining Pitango, Mr. Harel was Director of Corporate Development at Nektar Therapeutics (NASDAQ: NKTR) where he was responsible for strategic planning, in-licensing and M&A activities. Prior to his role at Nektar, he held various management positions at leading companies both in Israel and in the U.S. including IDEXX Laboratories (NASDAQ: IDXX) and IDGene Pharmaceuticals.
Peter Soderberg
Mr. Soderberg is the Managing Partner of Worthy Ventures Resources, LLC, a private investment company he founded in February 2010.
Mr. Soderberg is also a Board Member of Greatbatch Inc. (NYSE: GB) and Chairman of the Board of HealthSense . Mr. Soderberg retired in January 2010 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hillrom Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: HRC), a position he held since March 2006. Prior to that , he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Welch Allyn, Inc., and for the seven years prior to that, Chief Operating Officer of Welch Allyn’s medical products business.
Mr. Soderberg also held a number of positions over a twenty-three year career with Johnson & Johnson, where his final position was President of one of its operating subsidiaries. He had also served on the Board of Directors of Hillrom (formerly Hillenbrand Industries) and AdvaMed. Mr. Soderberg is a former Director of Constellation Brands, Inc. (NYSE: STZ) and Welch Allyn, Inc.
John R. Barr
Mr. Barr earned his experience serving at some innovative and successful medical device companies. He was most recently Executive Vice President and President of Global Surgical at Bausch & Lomb Holdings Incorporated until the acquisition of Bausch and Lomb by Valeant Pharmaceuticals in 2013. Prior to Bausch and Lomb, Barr was the CEO of AGA Medical, pioneer and leader in minimally invasive devices to repair structural heart defects and other vascular defects. Mr. Barr led a IPO for the Company in 2009 and the business was sold to St. Jude Medical in 2010.
Mr. Barr is a graduate of the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management-Northwestern University where he earned his Master’s degree in finance, accounting and economics. He earned his undergraduate degree in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Adina Makover
Dr. Makover has managed venture capital investments in the biotech/ medical devices field for the past eight years, and joined ProSeed in 2006. Previously she held senior management positions in life sciences companies focusing on drugs, diagnostics and tissue engineering,Holding positions of CEO and Board Member, R&D, Process Development and Production Manager, Dr. Makover had responsibility for both technology and business aspects.
Dr. Makover holds a joint Ph.D degree in life sciences from Columbia University (USA) and Weizmann Institute of Science, (Israel) and did post- doctoral research at the Weizmann Institute in Israel. Dr. Makover also holds an MBA degree from Bar-Ilan University.
Shuki Nir
Mr. Nir earned his experience serving at several innovative and successful technology companies. He was most recently Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing and General Manager of Consumer BU at SanDisk corporation (SNDK) until the acquisition by Western Digital Inc. (WDC) in 2016. Nir joined SanDisk in November 2006 through the acquisition of msystems Ltd (FLSH). Prior to that, he held sales and marketing positions at Destinator Ltd. and also co-founded and served as chief executive officer of MindEcho. Nir earned his bachelor’s degree in law and accounting and his master’s degree in business administration from Tel Aviv University.
Avner Halperin
Mr. Halperin is a veteran high tech executive. He has served in several senior management positions including CEO of Emmunet, VP Marketing at Radcom (NASDAQ: RDCM), and VP of Business Development at Lenslet.
He also led the R&D team at Eldat Communications (acquired by Pricer) and was the Department Head of an R&D Unit in the IDF Intelligence Corps where he won the Intelligence Innovation Award.
Mr. Halperin earned an M.Sc. in Applied Physics from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from the MIT Sloan Fellows Executive MBA Program.
Halperin was one of EarlySense’s founding team in 2004 and served as CEO of the company until 2019
Dr. Stephen Kahane
Stephen Kahane, M.D., M.S., is a healthcare technology industry veteran with more than 30 years of MedTech experience. His expertise encompasses medical technology, health informatics and health-insurance sectors.
Previously, Dr. Kahane served as CEO of AMICAS, a publicly traded imaging and information management company. He also served as CEO at two electronic healthcare record and practice management companies: VitalWorks, acquired by market leader Cerner in 2005, and Datamedic, which InfoCure acquired in 1999. Most recently, Dr. Kahane was President of Client Organization at athenahealth.
Dr. Kahane holds an M.S. in computer science from Johns Hopkins and an M.D. from Emory University. He also served as Medical Director and System Development Director of Information at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution.
David W. Bates, M.D.
Dr. Bates is an internationally acclaimed expert in patient safety. He is well known for using information technology to improve clinical decision-making, quality-of-care, cost-effectiveness, and outcomes assessment in medical practice.
Dr. Bates is Senior Vice President for Quality and Safety and Chief Quality Officer for Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He maintains his positions as Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Primary Care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard School of Public Health, where he co-directs the Program in Clinical Effectiveness. He also serves as Medical Director of Clinical and Quality Analysis, Information Systems for Partners Healthcare System.
Dr. Bates is a graduate of Stanford University and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He began his fellowship in general internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 1988, and he received a M.Sc. in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1990. He has been elected to the Institute of Medicine, the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the Association of American Physicians and the American College of Medical Informatics.
Robert M. Wachter, M.D.
Dr. Wachter is the Editor of the US Government’s two leading websites on safety, which receive about one million visits annually. He has also written two best-selling books on safety, including Understanding Patient Safety, the second edition of which was published in 2012.
In 2004, he received the John M. Eisenberg Award, the nation’s top honor in patient safety. For the past five years, Modern Healthcare magazine has named him one of the 50 most influential Physician Executives in the U.S. He was listed as number 14 in 2012.
Dr. Wachter has served on the Healthcare Advisory Boards of several companies, including Google. His blog, www.wachtersworld.org is one of the nation’s most popular healthcare blogs. In 2011, as a Fulbright Scholar, he studied patient safety and hospital medicine at Imperial College London.
Paul F. Levy
Mr. Levy is the former President and CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a patient safety advocate and the author of the popular blog Not Running a Hospital.
He served from 2002 to 2011 as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, one of the world’s preeminent academic health centers.
Mr. Levy first received recognition at BIDMC in 2002 for organizing a turn-around that saved the hospital from financial disaster.
Mr. Levy is a strong advocate for quality and safety improvement and transparency of clinical outcomes. He is also the former Executive Dean for Administration at Harvard Medical School (HMS), where among other responsibilities he helped coordinate collaborative ventures between HMS and its affiliated hospitals.
Lynn M. Taussig, M.D.
Dr. Taussig was CEO of National Jewish Medical and Research Center for nearly 12 ½ years. Currently, he is a Special Advisor to the Provost (for the Life Sciences) at the University of Denver and a Consultant to National Jewish.
He serves as the Chair of the Steering Committee for the Childhood Asthma Research and Education (CARE) Network. Prior to assuming his position at National Jewish, he was Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Director, Steele Children’s Research Center at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. He was on the faculty of the University of Arizona for 19 ½ years and began the Pediatric Pulmonary Section at that institution. In 1980, Dr. Taussig initiated the Tucson Children’s Respiratory Study, a major longitudinal study of the risk factors for asthma. The study continues today.
He is the author of more than 165 scientific publications and six books and monographs. He is a recipient of numerous honors and awards including the Alumni Achievement Award from Washington University School of Medicine, the Distinguished Achievement Award from the American Thoracic Society, and the Kendig Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Taussig is a graduate of Harvard University and Washington University School of Medicine.
Andrew Colin, M.D.
Dr. Colin is a Professor of Pediatrics and the Director of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology.
He received his MD at Technion, Israel Institute of Technology and completed his pediatric training in hospitals related to that medical school. He trained in Pediatric Pulmonology and Pediatric Intensive Care at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem and subsequently at Children`s Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School. He served as Associate-Chief of a Technionaffiliated Department of Pediatrics in Haifa, Israel.
In 1990 he joined the Faculty of Children`s Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School. He served as Clinical Director of the Division of Respiratory Diseases and was Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. He actively participated in research and teaching and received the Klaus Peter International Teaching Award of Harvard Medical School, and was the first recipient of the Andrew A. Colin Teaching Award, named after him at Children`s Hospital, Boston.
Dr. Colin’s expertise includes: asthma, cystic fibrosis, structural and functional development of the respiratory system and related problems including lung diseases of prematurity, pediatric bronchoscopy and more.
Richard J. Martin, M.D.
Dr. Martin is the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center and Professor of Medicine at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver.
He holds the Edelstein Family Chair in Pulmonary Medicine. Dr. Martin is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, European Respiratory Society, American Federation for Clinical Research, American College of Physicians, American Association of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, and International Society for Chronobiology. His research interests are in the area of adult asthma, including airway inflammation, chronobiology and chronotherapy, nocturnal asthma, and the interaction of chronic infection and asthma.
In 2003, Dr. Martin was honored with the American College of Chest Physicians Distinguished Scholar Award in Respiratory Health. He has published more than 250 articles, books, and book chapters.
Dr. Martin received his medical degree from the University Of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor and completed residency training at Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana, and a Pulmonary Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City.
Alfred Lewis
Mr. Lewis is Founder and President of the Disease Management Purchasing Consortium International, Inc. (DMPC–www.Dismgmt.com) which is the leading consultant/procurement broker in the field of Disease Management.
Mr. Lewis has published many articles on Disease Management. He is Founder and Past President of the Disease Management Association of America (www.DMAA.org), the official industry association. He is one of only two two-time winners (1999, 2004) of the DMAA’s Karen Coughlin Award for Outstanding Achievement in Disease Management. In 2002, The Disease Management Association of America created the Alfred B. Lewis Presidents Award.
Prior to founding the DMPC in 1996, Mr. Lewis had been Chairman and CEO (2003-2005) of CORE Inc., a Disability and Utilization Management Company. He holds an undergraduate and law degrees from Harvard University, Phi Beta Kappa and holds a Visiting Scholar Appointment at the Heller School for Social Policy, Brandeis University.
